At work last Tuesday we had a suspicious white powder in a delivery of office supplies. We were unable to identify the substance after speaking with the company and therefore had to contact the local police department. Shortly thereafter, we were required to leave our office while the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI investigated. Even though this was an inconvenience, it really was neat to witness a public health response firsthand. Thankfully, the substance was not anthrax (although I still don't know what it was) and business returned to normal on Thursday. Our office was closed on Wednesday until the rapid testing was complete.More pics here.
