Happy 4 Years...

Today is the four year anniversary of Brian's brain tumor surgery! We are blessed that he has recuperated fully and that he is here to celebrate the anniversary with us. Thank you Brian for being such a wonderful husband, father, and provider. We love you very much!

Four years ago we spent a very long, hard day at the hospital as we felt every minute of Brian's three hour surgery turn into nearly eight hours. If it wasn't for Collin and his comic relief, I am not sure we would have made it. The surgery was worth the wait though - Brian came out tumor free. We now pray the same for our dear family members who are facing cancer diagnoses of their own.

Summer Picnic Fun

Brian had his company picnic yesterday - we had a great time! Check out the video and pics below. The video is of Brian holding Morgan on his shoulders while he is hula hooping - it is a FUN watch!

Beach Time!

We just got back from a long 4th of July weekend celebration at the beach. We had a GREAT time and enjoyed a change of pace. It wasn't a 'relaxing' trip as we had two kids to keep busy, but it was a lot of fun. Thanks to Trey and Steph for letting us stay with them at their condo and to Peppy/Kim for providing a rest stop on our way to and from the beach. We even briefly visited the Nunnally gals and were able to see Megan!

Morgan LOVED the pool and ocean. She thoroughly enjoyed floating in the pool, jumping in, wading in the ocean, and playing in the sand. Brian and I were both surprised at how well and fearless she was in the pool and ocean. Matthew wasn't as excited about the heat,

We had several adventures along the way including....
  • A cat decided to hang out in the hood of our car at Trey/Steph's condo. When we turned the car on to drive down the street, we heard a series of thuds. Not knowing what it was, we stopped the car and heard a cat crying. A panic feeling rushed through me as I thought we were going to have a seriously injured cat on our hands (what would we do with it and how would we hide it from Morgan who was in the back seat?). After help from a neighborhood lawn man, we were able to open the hood and free the cat. The cat wasn't injured, but we definitely used one of its lives. Phew....what a relief.
  • We had a flat tire on the way home. After a couple of cans of 'fix a flat' didn't work, a very kind man at a gas station in the middle of 'nowhere Alabama' helped us permanetly fix the problem so we didn't have to change our tire in 90+ degree heat and who knows how high humidity. If you are ever traveling up 231 from Florida to Dothan, make sure you stop at mile marker 2. In this day in age, they truely know the term customer service.
  • As I mentioned above, we used 'fix a flat'. We didn't know at the time, but fix a flat will ruin the sensors in your tires that let you know you have a flat. We painfully learned this $300 lesson at our Honda dealer. Matthew and I spent a long morning there changing several dirty diapers which dirtied two of his outfits and exploded on my pants. As I didn't have a change of clothes with me, I looked like I peed all over myself (and I probably smelled like baby poo). Yuck. But hey, we did get a free car wash (which our car desperately needed).

Even though we had a great time, it was good to get back home. We have some pictures of our trip below:
