May Fun

We have been spending as much time as we can the last few weeks outside (click for pics) before it becomes too hot and humid. We went to 'Petapalooza' last weekend at the park. Morgan and Sercy had a great time and loved the excitement with the people and other dogs. Morgan even played frisbee for the first time.

We also had a very eventful Memorial Day Weekend. On Friday night we went to a Memorial Day concert at the park with music and parachuters. We brought Sercy and a picnic dinner and had a wonderful time lounging on the park grass and watching the sites! We got up Saturday morning to pick fresh strawberries (we filled two (1)-gallon buckets!) so we could make fresh homemade jam. Kara joined us that afternoon for the rest of the weekend. We went to the outdoor playground pool Sunday (the water was a tad bit cold still!) and set up our own kiddie pool in the back for Mogan on Monday.

Brian did some home improvement projects this weekend, so overall, we were quite busy, but had a great weekend. Kara is moving from Nashville back to Wyoming next month - we will miss her dearly but wish her the best!

Has She Grown?

These two pictures were taken about 20 months apart in the exact same dress (different sizes though) while Morgan was in her car seat. What a difference a year and a half makes!

Happy Mother's Day

We hope all Mothers out there had a great Mothers' Day this past Sunday. Brian, Morgan, and my family made mine extra special. Every day I am reminded about how blessed I am to have my family - but it is special to have a day devoted to mothers and to remind us how lucky we really are!

Uh-oh!

So, I guess nearly every parent has the story of their child calling 911. Well, Morgan didn't exactly call 911, but we did have a police officer show up at our door last night. When I arrived home after work last night, Morgan and I went upstairs so I could change my clothes. She started playing with our home alarm remote that we keep upstairs (on Brian's nightstand). Once I saw what she was doing, I didn't think much of it but I did enter our security code just in case she armed the alarm. A few minutes later Brian arrived home and our phone rang. No one left a message, so once again, we didn't think anything of it. About half an hour later a police man shows up at our door. Apparantly Morgan triggered our silent alarm and the phone call had been ADT (the call went to our privacy director and because we didn't answer it, they couldn't leave a message). Thankfully, the police officer was very understanding (I was expecting a long painful lecture from the police officer, but thankfully he was very nice about the situation. ADT did followup with another phone call - we answered it this time. We have also moved our alarm remote so Morgan can't reach it. I do wonder why it took the police department 30 minutes to arrive though - what if it had been a true emergency!

Fountain Fun!

We went to Town Center Park to play in the fountain with the Norris Clan. The weather was warm so we couldn't resist the fun!

Visiting Friends

We went to Birmingham this past weekend to visit friends. We also were able to meet Peyton Scarlett King - who is now six weeks old. Peyton is a sweet, beautiful baby and it was wonderful to finally be able to meet her.

Morgan has become quite attached to her own baby dolls, so she was always concerned where the baby (Peyton) was and if the baby was going to come with us. She even did a good job holding her.

As Morgan and Gray grow up, they play with each other more and more. It has been neat watching them grow up together and starting the process of becoming great lifelong friends.
We spent the weekend shopping, relaxing, and we went to a baseball game on Saturday night (Morgan's first!). The weather was warm and humid--unfortunately, I think summer is right around the corner! I realized how family friendly Birmingham is--everything is just around the corner (quite UNLIKE Atlanta).

These two pictures are of Morgan buckling her booster straps. She loves buckling things and tightening lids on containers. The pictures also show why I don't let Brian fix Morgan's hair on a daily basis.....
