No Words

We are now facing a difficult time in our lives. I am not really sure how to articulate things as I haven't processed what this really means, but Brian has done a great job of explaining things - http://upofdn.blogspot.com/2007/07/medical-mystery-tour-2007.html.

Aunt Mimi!

Aunt Mimi came to visit and we had a great time. On Saturday, we took Morgan to a Hibachi Grill for the first time. Although she wasn't sure of the flames, she really enjoyed the food. That afternoon we went to the pool and the weather was beautiful (not too hot, no rain, and low humidity). Saturday night Brian and I were able to go on a date (Thanks Mimi!). Morgan ended up getting a fever on Sunday so we stayed low, but she still had a ton of energy (I have no idea where she finds it). Peppy even came to visit that evening to say hi.

Aunt Mimi left this morning - we sure will miss her and we had a great time!

Even though Morgan is just one - she is all two. She is testing us all the time and reminds us constantly that 'she' is in charge (that is what she thinks!). She loves puzzles - Brian and I bought three new ones this week as we get tired of playing with the same puzzles over and over again. Books are also a favorite activity - she loves Brown Bear, Curious George and the Bunny, and Ten Tiny Fairies. Morgan starts 'mommy and me' gymnastics classes next month and will also be transiting from her babysitter to an early education center. It will be a busy month for us, but her new school is definitely for the best.

Happy Summer!

Welcome Rachel!

Our dear friends, John and Amy, along with their daughter Sarah, welcomed Rachel Elizabeth into the world on Sunday evening. We are so happy for them and thankful for a safe and healthy delivery....

Potty Training Progress

Morgan has been making great progress with potty training. We knew it would be a good day yesterday when she asked both Brian and I each to go potty yesterday morning before we went to work. I received a call from the babysitter later that morning that Morgan went both #1 and #2 in the potty and told the babysitter she needed to go. She did the same thing later in the afternoon. She sure did get a lot of stickers yesterday and plenty of praise! We are so proud of her!

Below are pictures of her and Brian standing next to her sticker chart. As you can see, she has received quite a few stickers in the last week and a half!

We're Back

Brian and I got back from New Jersey a few days ago - I had a work conference. I can't say we had a great time as Atlantic City really isn't that nice and work was SUPER busy, but it was nice to get away. Morgan had a GREAT time with Mama and Papa. They went to the Atlanta Zoo, Chuck E Cheeses, played a ton and bought a slide for the backyard for Morgan. My dad took daily videos so we were able to keep up on all of the action. My favorites are below.

Hi Mommy and Daddy!

Baby Bear

We are working on potty training Morgan so that by her second birthday we can be nearly finished with diapers (I hope so anyway!). I have been waiting until we got back to implement the chart system. She gets stickers for using her potty and asking us when she needs to go. So far it is working well and she received quite a few stickers in the first twenty four hours. Hopefully this will motivate her a bit.
Morgan starts school on August 13th at an early education center here in Gwinnett. It has indoor and outdoor playgrounds specifically for tots, parent observation rooms, and a messy room - I think she will love it and we can't wait for her to start. We all will miss Marianne (her babysitter) but we know this is the right move for Morgan.
