Busy Weekend!

This past weekend was quite busy! Brea and I took Morgan and Jackson to the Atlanta Zoo on Friday. Our primary mission was to see the baby panda bear--and we were successful (see here)! Taking two tots to the zoo is exhausting--even with two adults.

Saturday we had an Easter egg hung (see here) and a special carb-dinner for Brian and Brea to prepare for the ING Half Marathon.

Sunday morning we cheered on Brea and Brian as they both successfully ran 13.1 miles!! Way to go! Later that day we received word that Peyton Scarlett King joined the world at 6lbs 14 ounces. The whole family is doing great. We can't wait to meet the new addition to the family!

Morgan Graduated!

We just finished Morgan's last swimming class of this session. We had such a great time, we might sign her up for the next session. We have really seen her grow during the last few weeks. Morgan is now much more comfortable in the water and comes up with a smile after she has been 'dunked' or after she swims through a hoop. We practice our 'kick kick kicks,' arm motions, and blowing bubbles in the bathtub (and sometimes even on the couch or floor!).

This weekend, Auntie Brea (AKA Aunt Mimi) is in town for the ING Half Marathon. Brian and Brea are running 13 miles Sunday morning (the rest of us will lazily soak up the sun and enjoy the beautiful spring weather while we wait). Tomorrow, Brea, Morgan, Jackson and I are heading to the zoo to see the animals (especially the baby Panda!). We will spend Saturday having an early Easter and will top the weekend off with the race and a Sunday afternoon nap.

Enjoy the pics!

Glad to be back home!

Earlier this week, I went to San Antonio for a two day work trip. I am definitely thankful to be back home. The trip was full of the unexpected...from my tv that would not stay on to my shower that came on after I flushed my toilet. I finally had to change hotel rooms after I realized that my two large windows were completely frosted over (and we are not talking about snow frost, rather we are talking about paint or some other material). As I arrived late on Monday, I really didn't notice this until after the meeting ended on Tuesday. Who sells a hotel room with frosted windows? After a long day of meetings in a wondowless room, I couldn't stand to be 'trapped' in my hotel room without knowing what was out my window. Interstingly, no one from hotel staff could explain this to me. Tripadvisor here I come...

I also had an experience using the women's bathroom at a mexican restuarant when a man (who I assume had too many margaritas) wandered in and was a bit surprised there were no urinals. It didn't stop him though--he went into the stall next to me and proceeded to do his business anyway after saying outloud "what the....?" This totally freaked me out as I thought I was the one who was in the wrong bathroom! I finished my business as fast as I could and tore out of the bathroom only to breathe a sigh of relief that I was not losing my mind and used the correct bathroom!

Although my meeting went well, I was thankful to get back home last night and to get home before Morgan went to bed (we even shared a flight with an otter, baby alligator, and snake from Sea World). The poor otter was put down below with the luggage while the alligator and snake sat in first class--definitely not fair for the rest of us, especially the otter!

The only pic I took was using my cell phone (that is why it is so small)--we took advantage of a break in the heavy rains and thunderstorms to walk the River Walk and to see the Alamo at night. It was a beautiful sight!

My Two Favorite People

March has been a busy month already! Yesterday we went to the Tennessee Aquarium to spend the day as a family along with a great friend, Kara. Morgan loved running around looking at the fishes and seeing all of the butterflies in the butterfly room. Her new favorite saying is "I walk" as she doesn't like to be carried or pushed in her stroller (she would rather push the stroller herself). Her other new role in the family is our family dog caretaker. She wants to feed Sercy several times a day and loves to go to the garage to get a scoop of food to pour into Sercy's bowl. She also make sure Sercy knows she is supposed to eat it!

More pics of the aquarium can be viewed at our Yahoo Photos page.

Spring Fever

Spring is right around the corner. Morgan and I took advantage of the beautiful weather to play outside and blow some bubbles!

Morgan's First Swiming Class

Morgan and I started swimming classes this week as we plan to spend plenty of time by the pool this summer! Morgan's first class went very well. She learned to kick, reach and pull (arms) and blow bubbles in the water. During the second class Morgan learned to lay on her back, but decided enough was enough and wanted out about halfway through the class. We stuck it out and she did much better kicking and using her arms than she did on Day 1. We have six more classess left and although I don't look forward to having to get in a pool of cold water after a long day of work, I do look forward to spending one on one time with Morgan teaching her something new. It is also fun that Daddy comes along to cheer her on!
