Our Family Update

Although it hasn't been that long since we posted, I feel like a lot has happened since then. My mom visisted a few weeks ago - it was much needed and very busy trip. Morgan loves when Ma-ma visits - especially all the one on one attention she gets. Morgan really gets jealous when my mom pays any sort of attention to Matthew!

My mom and Morgan did the usual trips to "Old McDonalds" (AKA McDonalds) and the carousel. We even witnessed a grandma who was riding the carousel with her grandchildren blow chunks (sorry if TMI). Morgan talked about that for days! We also visited some new places like the American Girl Bistro and Cafe (baby doll Violet joined us) and the "Jumpy Place". Morgan even showed off her skills in the swimming pool - SHE LOVES scooting around the pool in her floaties. With the LONG summer we have down here, there are still plenty more weekends to enjoy the hot weather at the pool.

Morgan's last week of school was on Wednesday. She starts her new three year old preschool class on Monday - she is very excited to be upstairs with the big kids. Because Matthew is still so young, he was the only kid in his class that didn't get to move up (poor baby!). Matthew will now be the same age as the new kids joining his class and hopefully will be able to enjoy all of the toys in his room without his teachers having to worry he will be 'beaten up' by the older babies! Matthew is now five months old and weighs nearly 18 pounds (at least I don't think he has past the 18 pound mark yet!). He is becoming more of a little person everyday.

Morgan and Matthew already have a special bond that is difficult to describe. He lights up when she pays him any sort of attention. Morgan even speaks to him using made up words (perhaps their own special language) and he busts up laughing. While we are in the car, Matthew usually has his head turned so he can see Morgan and watch whatever she is doing.
